Singapore attracts a lot of people, who may visit for tourism or may intend to live there. Some of the popular tourist spots are already becoming crowded and seem to have become stale for those who live there or have been to Singapore a few times. These districts include Marina Bay District, Marina Bay Sands, Merlion Park, and the Esplanade Theatres. For a different environment, you may want to look at some neighbourhoods in these other areas.

One such area is Eunos. Located in the South-Eastern region of Singapore, it’s home to around 34,000 people. Eunos is named after the late Mohamed Eunos Abdullah, who was a prominent Malay elite in the 1920s. The neighbourhood started out as a small Malay settlement, with plantations and generic farmlands, but over the decades, has been developed into a modern town, with both private and public housing areas such as high-rise apartments, terraces, and also bungalows. An upcoming development in Eunos, the Parc Esta Condos will also be among the menagerie of homes in the area. Located in the vicinity are a wide selection of food and amenities, including the popular Haig Road, which has some of the best hawker food in Singapore, and two malls, Paya Lebar Square and Singpost Centre. Eunos is accessible by two MRT stations, namely Paya Lebar and Eunos MRT stations. There is also a bus interchange connected to Eunos MRT, making the neighbourhood accessible via multiple public transportations.

Another delightful residential area we have to mention is Bukit Timah. Located in the South-West of Singapore, it’s one of the densest area for private housing in Singapore. Formerly filled with gambier and pepper plantations, Bukit Timah Road was also once home to an infestation of tigers, back in 1860. Nowadays, it’s synonymous with being an area for the wealthy and discerning, with the Singapore Turf Club situated at its heart. Along with the Bukit Timah Race Course, it’s a haven for horse and horse-racing lovers. Additionally, it has some of the most elite schools in Singapore, such as Hwa Chong Institution and Singapore University of Social Sciences. Amenities in the area are plentiful, with malls like Bukit Timah Shopping Centre just a stone’s throw away. Public transportation is available too for easy accessibility, with multiple MRT stations like Bukit Timah and Tan Kah Kee, and buses too. If this neighbourhood strikes your fancy, consider buying from a range of properties, like the Fourth Avenue Residences Condo, and make a tasteful home that fulfills your expensive tastes.

Finally, a third great neighbourhood to stay in is Ang Mo Kio, also known as AMK for short. It is the third most populated area in the region and the eight most populated area in the whole of Singapore. As part of the country’s green initiative, even though the region is urbanized, AMK has a lot of parks along with start-up businesses. The neighbourhood has an advanced road network and a Mass Rapid Transit line connecting to Yio Chu Kang with a bus interchange available as well. The neighbourhood has all amenities available including medical, administrative, legal, social and religious services. One of the attractive residential building in AMK is Belgravia Green Terrace, which are semi-detached condos catering to multiple people. This area has eight primary schools, eight secondary schools, a junior college and two technical colleges.
